THE BEGINNING.
DropTop was born as an idea between two friends. As truck owners with active lifestyles, they shared their mutual complaints about the lack of a product that would allow them to have the security and convenience of a hard shell tonneau - but the convenience of being able to quickly remove it for oversize cargo that wouldn't fit underneath a tonneau.
A couple of beers and some pen sketches later, DropTop was born!
AN IDEA, IS JUST AN IDEA.
Until you design it, engineer it, and then build it. Armed with the paper napkin sketches, DropTop's creators started the process of realizing this revolutionary tonneau.
Hundreds of hours and several prototypes later, DropTop was a reality.
With full-size pickup trucks like the F-150 and Silverado consistently topping vehicle sales charts in the U.S., it made sense to build our prototype to fit one.
